In addition to his advisory role, Satsha will lead the Alternate Legal Services (ALS) Department at WMN Attorneys. The department has purpose-built delivery services which offer its clients nuanced solutions to the evolving demands and dynamics of the business of law.
Satsha believes that “the values, the calibre of work and trajectory of WMN stand out as a perfect fit” for this part of his career. He remarked that WMN is a special institution and a niche law firm that offers exciting opportunities for growth.
Using his extensive experience in the business of law, Satsha shared insights on the demands of clients who are looking for value for their money now that the business of law is engulfed in price competitive dynamics and models. “The ALS department will offer clients in the property, mining, infrastructure, energy and oil & gas sectors legal services tailored to their needs,” he explained.
The services on offer encompass a variety of legal specialities, including managed services to clients who would like processes improved and tech-enabled volume work, data protection management, litigation support as well as compliance and/or regulatory work. “Clients will be offered solutions which are output based and value driven as opposed to the traditional billing of hours,” said Satsha.
He highlighted that there are new opportunities in cybersecurity, financial technology (fintech), technology media and telecommunications sectors. “This comes as a result of rapidly evolving innovation in the tech space,” he noted. Many of these opportunities are also a result of the increasingly sophisticated nature of cyber-attacks. “This has presented a unique opportunity in the legal landscape to facilitate heightened and sophisticated solutions to clients who are seeking legal advice on how to protect their data while still complying with regulatory requirements,” Satsha noted.
“We will also offer clients solutions to enable their businesses to merge with new and emerging industries such as blockchain and cryptocurrency,” he said.
As blockchain, cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence (AI) become more prevalent in the various sectors, there is a need for legal services to ensure that technology is used ethically and legally.
“WMN Attorneys Inc offers clients solutions that will shape the frameworks that govern these sectoral interactions and will meet their regulatory demands,” Satsha explained. “Fintechs are providing great solutions that are creating seamless and borderless transactions. WMN will use these to offer clients legal solutions that support their growth and facilitate their competitiveness across borders.”
Satsha’s experience includes advising clients on a wide range of cross-border corporate and commercial matters. His areas of expertise cover fintech, software technology contracts, telecommunications, general commercial law, facilities management advisory, intra group banking contracts and regulatory matters.
