In this episode we're joined by Ikenna Onyebuchi, co-founder of BAME Nation who is dedicated to supporting aspiring lawyers from BAME backgrounds.

Ikenna moved from Nigeria to the UK to attend boarding school when he was just 11 year old and faced many challenges as he navigated cultural differences and the age old expectation that he must become a lawyer, a doctor or an engineer. As a law student Ikenna did not immediately fall in love with the law but in our discussion he explains how he has found his way to understand his place within it and how he is helping others in the BAME community to frame their future careers. There is no ‘cookie cutter’ lawyer and being entrepreneurial is allowed.

Ikenna was an intern in Africa Legal’s London office over the summer of 2019 and in this episode he turns the tables to interview Scott Cowan, CEO and Tom Pearson, COO of Africa Legal on their vision for the platform, legal technology and the future for young African lawyers.
