Liquid Intelligent Technologies (Liquid Labs) has capabilities across 14 countries and is redefining network, cloud and cyber security offerings through a host of strategic relationships. In this partnership with Africa Legal, Liquid has gone to the core of its vision which is a belief that technology can create a better life for everyone.
“We know the potential that exists in Africa because we are on the ground working in communities. Our relationship with Africa Legal is about offering targeted training for lawyers and the business community, to enable working people to upskill and embrace the opportunities of the digital world,” explained Ben Roberts, Group Chief Technology and Innovation Officer at Liquid.
The three courses are:
1) Leveraging off Legal Technology to Grow Your Firm
Many law firms in Africa remain traditional in the way they operate, and this can limit growth. Legal technology improves efficiency and provides better service to clients, ultimately growing a firm and its business.
Africa Legal’s Director of Operations, Irèna Wasserfall, said this course would introduce participants to general areas of business where legal technology tools may be relevant for expanding their firms. “We encourage attendees to conduct their business in a way that leverages off the inherent potential that legal technology holds, and show them the steps to consider when deciding on what solutions should be implemented.”
2) Change Management for Lawyers
The pandemic highlighted the need for all organisations (law firms included) to ensure they use technology to better facilitate their business’s operations and as a strategic business enabler, Irena said.
“Although we will focus on legal technology, particularly what issues and considerations are relevant when implementing your firm’s technological solutions, the learning outcomes focus on more general application. In this way, this course provides the learner with critical change management perspectives relevant to any area of development within their business.”
3) The Fundamentals of Business Law for Entrepreneurs
This one-hour course is designed for emerging entrepreneurs. It provides the platform of legal knowledge required to grow a business from initial start-up to becoming investment-ready.
“Our subject matter experts will share some insight into what to look for when partnering with a law firm that will be a valuable ally in growing your business. They will also guide you to prepare for your first meetings with your legal partner so that you use your limited time together as efficiently and effectively as possible,” Irèna explained.
The pandemic has driven a global surge in digital learning and people in Africa are poised to benefit as courses become more targeted and more within their range.
“All three courses are priced in a way to ensure they are accessible to as broad a range of students as possible, with early bird registration allowing for more savings for each course. The courses will also be registered with accredited providers so they have meaning on a person’s resume,” clarified Ben.
Africa Legal’s Chief Executive, Scott Cowan, said he was delighted by the partnership which was in line with the platform’s vision of building networks, reinforcing pan-African relationships in the legal community, and building capacity.
“This is just the beginning of an exciting journey and we look forward to offering so much more to our Africa Legal community by way of news, job opportunities and education,” he said.
The courses will be available for early bird purchase in the coming weeks. To pre-register click here
