New director at Beech Veltman

Beech Veltman (BV) recently announced the appointment of the highly experienced Stephen Thibedi Nthite as a new director.

Stephen has over 27 years’ experience in the legal sector, and a specialist interest in occupational health and safety, environmental law – including environment, social and governance (ESG) compliance and reporting, commercial, and community engagement initiatives and programmes.

He has a particular passion for ESG with a focus on, and commitment to, developing an environment which facilitates mutually beneficial and harmonious relations between all parties in the mining ecosystem.

Stephen also has strong employment law and dispute resolution experience. He successfully acted as the independent chairperson of the Bargaining Forum of The Health Professionals Council of South Africa for many years, ensuring that relationships between all parties remained intact during his tenure.

Stephen started his career as a senior researcher for Justice Madala at the Constitutional Court of South Africa before undertaking a mentorship under Warren Beech at Leppan Beech Attorneys. In 2010 he founded Thibedi Nthite Attorneys Inc before moving on to work for TNA Attorneys.

“I have had the pleasure of working with Stephen over many years and I have always been struck by Stephen’s calm and measured approach,” commented Warren Beech, BV’s Chief Executive Officer. “I am confident that Stephen’s experience will add tremendous value to our team at Beech Veltman, and our clients.”

Stephen has sat on various boards and is currently an independent non-executive director of African Equity Empowerment Investments Limited.
