WaterAid is Hogan Lovells’ next global non-profit partner organisation, and the three-year partnership will see the firm fundraise to support climate-resilient water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) projects in Mozambique.
Hogan Lovells and WaterAid’s partnership will work to advance progress towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a particular focus on Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation). Access to sustainable and safe water, sanitation, and hygiene underpin almost all other areas of development, and as the effects of climate change are increasingly felt, innovative climate-resilient technologies are essential to the wellbeing and success of communities – and as a means to safeguard economies.
WaterAid currently works within 27 countries around the world to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone within a generation. Hogan Lovells will provide pro bono legal advice, volunteer support and unique fundraising and awareness initiatives to support the charity’s work. These efforts align with the firm’s strategic focus areas for responsible business.

Funding from Hogan Lovells will go towards the delivery of climate-resilient WASH services in the Cuamba District of Mozambique, one of the most climate-impacted countries in the world, where more than a third of the population lack access to clean water.
Hogan Lovells’ dedicated fundraising project will support:
