KTA Chooses New Managing Partner

Asmahaney Saad is the new managing partner (in rotation) at KTA Advocates, Uganda’s top law firm. She takes over from the outgoing managing partner, Kenneth Muhangi who served from January 2020 to December 2021.

An advocate, legal consultant and alternative dispute resolution practitioner, Saad specialised in corporate and commercial law, projects and alternative dispute resolution. She was called to the bar in 2008 and previously practiced as in-house counsel for international companies operating in Uganda’s telecom and oil and gas sectors. Saad joined KTA in December 2020 and will continue to serve as Partner Lead and Head of KTA’s Corporate, Commercial and Projects (oil & gas) (CCP) practice department.

“In line with KTA’s tradition to rotate the managing partner role, we couldn’t have picked a more suitable captain,” commented Muhangi, Africa’s Male Partner of the Year (2020) and KTA’s Managing Partner Emeritus. “Asmahaney Saad is a super woman and I look forward to working with her as she cements KTA’s vision to be the go-to regional firm of choice.”

Saad said she was thrilled that the partners trust her to steer KTA’s 14 years of business success to the next level. “Beyond my professional capabilities, experience and management knowledge, I believe KTA has demonstrated its ability to quickly adapt to global business trends.” She sees it as a personal challenge to continue demonstrating the value female leadership can bring to a business.
