Asafo & Co boosts its Securitization Practice

Asafo & Co’s new recruit, a veteran former in-house lawyer, is an indication that the firm is preparing for a securitization boom in West and North Africa.

Nicolas Noblanc spent over two decades at EuroTitrisation as head of legal, and later director of strategic development and chief regulatory and compliance officer. He’s joined Asafo & Co in Paris as senior counsel, to advise on his area of specialisation, as well as structured finance, capital markets and financial regulation.

“With the securitization market taking off in West Africa, Nicolas’ experience and expert perspective will contribute significantly to our role in developing structured finance and securitization in the region,” said the statement by Asafo & Co. “Nicolas will work closely with lawyers in Paris and in our other offices, particularly Abidjan where the securitization market is strong, but also Casablanca where important developments in the region are expected this year. He will also be involved in debt restructuring and providing strategic advice in international debt capital markets to African States, international financial institutions and asset managers.”
