Webber Wentzel’s graduate team scoops awards

Webber Wentzel’s graduate team celebrated a successful evening at the Wits Law Gala Dinner in early October 2024, taking home two prestigious awards.

The annual gala dinner event, hosted by the Wits Law Student Council (LSC), recognises the achievements of final-year law students. The Webber Wentzel team was honoured with two awards: the Best Merch Award and the Empower Her Project of the Year award.

The firm was singled out among all the participating firms for its exceptional engagement with Wits law students. Webber Wentzel’s merchandise provided during on-campus events also left a lasting positive impression on the student community, earning the firm the Best Merch Award.

The Empower Her Project of the Year award acknowledged Webber Wentzel's unwavering commitment to social responsibility and community support. The firm was lauded for their generous donation to the LSC's period poverty initiative, which demonstrated their impactful contributions to the lives of those in need.

“We are proud to see our graduate team recognised for their commitment to shaping tomorrow's leaders,” said Tasneem Fakie, Acting Human Resources Director at Webber Wentzel. “Empowering future leaders starts with nurturing young talent today. Together, we are building a brighter future by fostering healthy environments that spark innovation.”

Webber Wentzel is committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for individuals who are part of its graduate programmes. This commitment is reflected in various initiatives, including:
