After more than two decades of guiding the firm’s success, John M. Ohaga, SC, C.Arb, FCIArb will step down from the role of Managing Partner and transition into a Senior Partner position, effective 1st February 2025.
In this new role, John will focus on mentorship, leadership, and continuing to provide exceptional service to clients across Africa.
Taking over as Managing Partner is Marysheila Onyango-Oduor, FCIArb, who has been with the firm since 2002 and has risen through the ranks from pupil to Managing Partner. With years of experience and a deep understanding of the firm’s culture and clients’ needs, Marysheila is well-positioned to lead TripleOKLaw LLP into its next chapter of growth and innovation.
Marysheila has earned widespread recognition from peers for her exceptional contributions to the legal profession, particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, where she played a key role in training Kenyan Bar members on the virtual court system.
With a proven track record of handling high-profile legal matters and complex disputes, Marysheila has successfully represented government clients and multinational organisations in cases valued in millions of dollars. She is also an active member of several judicial committees focused on family and children's issues, including her longstanding role since 2016 on the Kenyan National Council on the Administration of Justice Taskforce on Children’s Matters.
Additionally, she serves as a member of the High Court (Family Division) Bar-Bench Committee and the Convenor of the Chief Magistrates Court’s (Children Division) Bar-Bench Committee.
